Revolut partners with The Trussell Trust foodbank

UK-based fintech, Revolut, has partnered with The Trussell Trust foodbank network to support emergency food needs around the UK. From today, Revolut customers in the UK will be able to donate via the in-app Donations feature to help those most in need. One hundred percent of the amount donated goes to the Trussell Trust.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the economy and loss of income becomes more prevalent, the strain on food banks has continued to rise steeply. All donations to The Trussell Trust will go towards providing necessary meals and psychological support for everyone who is in need now.

The Trussell Trust is the UK’s largest food bank network, with 1200 centres providing emergency food and practical, compassionate support to people in crisis. It anticipates a minimum of 400,000 emergency parcels will be supplied over the next three months and is currently focusing all efforts on its food banks during the pandemic, ensuring people in crisis can access support by getting food to the places it’s most needed.

We have started to see a reduction in food donations, coupled with a very real shortage of volunteers and on-the-ground support. We are working closely with our food banks, who are supporting those most vulnerable to the impacts of poverty and isolation, helping them to survive these months of crisis. They are under immense pressure and we anticipate a minimum of 400,000 emergency parcels will be supplied over the next three months. We know we won’t be able to do this alone, so we are truly grateful for this support from Revolut.
