Just 31% of app developers are happy with ad revenues

Mobile video ad firm, Chocolate, has released the results of its  App Developer Survey 2018. Focusing on app monetization, the report reveals insights into app developers’ satisfaction with current ad revenues, perceptions towards ad mediation and impact of in-app video ads like rewarded videos in boosting ad revenues. It found that:

  • Only 31% app developers are satisfied with their in-app ad revenues.
  • Only 17% app developers are satisfied with their in-app ad revenues from non-video ads.
  • 54% app developers are willing to try ad mediation to boost in-app ad revenues.

The survey report clearly states the fact that app developers are not satisfied with their current ad revenues and considering a majority of developers rely on ad-based monetization as their primary source of revenue, there is a critical need of putting power back in the hands of app developers.
