Corethree reports 30% rise in m-tickets year-on-year in September

Mobile ticketing firm, Corethree, has released its September data, which shows a rapid acceleration in the UK’s adoption of mobile ticketing as people return to work, school and university after the summer break.

Corethree’s mobile-data intelligence platform, Core Engine, processed 21,000 requests per minute at its peak, whilst latency remained under 100 milliseconds, making September a record-breaking month. In just one week over 800,000 m-tickets were bought, generating £7,250,000 in sales.

The highest number of m-tickets – 175,000 – were sold on Monday 30th September 2019 with half of these being processed before 9am. Data from the same day in 2018, when £1,440,000 million worth of m-tickets were sold compared to 2019, when £2,000,000 worth were sold, shows a 30% increase in m-ticket sales.

September is always our busiest month, but these figures have surpassed our expectations and prove that the market demand from consumers and businesses for mobile ticketing is growing at an accelerated rate with no sign of stopping anytime soon. Our September numbers speak for themselves, showing that as our transport partners’ m-ticketing user-base continues to grow, we are more than ready and able to meet demand and help create smoother journeys.
