We gather information that relates to, and can identify you (e.g. your name and email address) when you sign up for our weekly newsletter.  We collect information that does not identify you but is useful to us such as user behaviour when you visit the website.   This helps us evaluate our site, the performance of articles, and although not yet live, this aggregated data will help us ensure we are paid for advertising services that we may offer in the future.

We may also update this policy from time to time.

How do we gather information?

  2. Directly eg when you buy a subscription or register on the website for our newsletter or when responding to promotions and offers.

Why we collect it

We collect information about you so that we can personalise your use of the site, assist your use of the site and improve the site generally.

We do not currently engage with third parties and pass on personal data such as names and email addresses.  This information stays with us and nobody else.

In certain circumstances, we may need to disclose information about you if you breach this Privacy Policy or if you breach the Terms and Conditions. We may also disclose or access your account if required to do so by law or by any Government body.

Security

Keeping information about you secure is very important to us and certain sections of the site may encrypt data using SSL or a comparable standard. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. As a result, whilst we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information which you send to us, and you do so at your own risk.

Automated processes

We do not currently run any automated processes such as billing for EYE Network Membership but in the future we may.  At that time we will inform you that this is the case, and with your consent,  process your personal data as part of The Mobile Industry Eye billing process.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you and request us to change, delete or update this information for free.
