Digital parking services company, EasyPark Group, and mobile technology company Fortumo have partnered to launch direct carrier billing in Slovenia. Drivers in the country can now charge parking fees to their Telekom Slovenije, A1 or Telemach, to their mobile phone bill or have the fee deducted from their prepaid SIM card.
Slovenia is the fourth country where EasyPark and Fortumo have partnered on mobile payments for parking, with Finland, Norway and Sweden launched last year.
The direct carrier billing launch in Slovenia for EasyPark was done through Fortumo’s Payments API. Since an existing integration with Fortumo was already in place for Scandinavia, EasyPark did not need to do any additional development on their side and the launch was managed by Fortumo. EasyPark provides parking services in 13 European countries and the two companies are working together to launch additional markets soon.
Paying for parking with carrier billing gives the greatest convenience to locals and makes it accessible to anyone. For companies providing smart city solutions and local municipalities, there is also the added benefit of cutting down on infrastructure costs in managing parking solutions as the entire payment requires users only to have their mobile phone at hand.
